Ozark Bible College began in 1942 in Bentonville, Arkansas, moving to Joplin, Missouri in 1944. The college relocated again to its present location at 1111 North Main in 1963. Reflecting the consolidation with Midwest Christian College in 1985, Ozark Bible College became Ozark Christian College. Consistent leadership has been a hallmark of OCC throughout its history. The college has had only two (2) Presidents in the last fifty-two (52) years and only four (4) Academic Deans in its sixty-two (62) year history.

The ultimate mission of Ozark Christian College is to glorify God by seeking the evangelization of the lost and the edification of Christians worldwide. The immediate mission of Ozark Christian College is to train men and women for Christian service through an undergraduate Bible college education. Ozark's campus includes sixteen (16) buildings on ninety-five (95) acres on North Main Street in Joplin. The radio stations of Ozark (90.7 FM KOBC and 1310 AM) are located on an additional thirty-five (35) acres near the campus. 847 students enrolled for the fall semester of 2003.

OCC is a member of the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), formerly known as the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges (AABC). During 1999 OCC was reaffirmed in its accreditation by the AABC for another ten (10) years. The library includes approximately 62,000 bound volumes, 20,000 Audio-Visual items and 400 periodical subscriptions. The library is automated in cataloging, public access and circulation and is open to the public.

Ozark offers four-year and five-year degree programs to prepare graduates for vocational Christian service and several one, two and three-year programs designed for those who will serve in non-church related vocations. Ozark also operates intercollegiate sports programs for men (soccer and basketball) and women (volleyball and basketball) as part of the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association).

OCC is currently in Phase 1 of a four-phase master plan expansion designed to accommodate a student body of 1,200. Building Leaders-Changing Lives is the capital campaign that is underway to fund the $3.5 million cost of Phase 1 initiatives.

  Spreading the FAME of CHRIST

"FAME is dedicated to bringing help and hope to people in underdeveloped nations through medical evangelism with special concern for those untouched with the Gospel of Christ. This is the mission of "FAME" (Fellowship of Associates of Medical Evangelism). Spreading the Gospel of Christ through medical evangelism. Central Christian College of the Bible was founded in 1957 and was located east of downtown Moberly, Missouri on Ault Street. Moberly is located on highway 63 approximately 25 minutes North of Columbia, Missouri.

In 1968 the college moved to its present campus in southern Moberly.

Over the years the college has grown in its facilities, its resources and its family of alumni. Graduates of Central Christian College of the Bible are serving across the nation and around the world.

Central's impact is not merely regional, but has become truly global. With the extensive worldwide placement of Central's graduates, it can be said that "the sun never sets on the alumni of Central Christian College of the Bible."

Central is one of the few if not the only accredited college in the nation to offer each student a tuition scholarship. Several years ago, the board and staff of this college determined their students were going to receive an associate or bachelor degree without having debts because of the expense of tuition.

Today students are responsible for their room and board, books and incidental expenses while they obtain their degree. Central offers Associate and Bachelor Degrees in a number of programs. The college is accredited by Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges.

Students of Central Christian College of the Bible are eligible for participation in Title IV federal financial aid programs including the Federal Pell Grant Program, the Federal Work-Study Program, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant Program, The Federal Stafford Student Loan Program, and the Federal PLUS Loan Program.

The college has also been approved for the education of veterans by the Missouri State Department of Education. A very active athletic program is also available to the student body.

Approximately 400 students are enrolled at Central at this time. The college boasts a state of the art Library completed in 2001 which houses more than 40,000 volumes. Classrooms and the dormitories have the latest in computer and audio visual technology. Each dormitory building is wired for access to the campus network.

Missions Spotlight

During the next few months we will be featuring the Mission Program. This Program has been in place from the beginning of Solid Rock, funded through the General Fund. Currently 20% of the monies that go to the General Fund are used to support Missions.

The Featured Mission for February is Shiloh Christian Children's Ranch. Shiloh has provided homes for children since 1977. During these past 26 years, 170 children have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Shiloh provides homes parented by homeparents who help meet the spiritual, emotional, educational, social, and physical needs of the children. The homeparents care for the children as their own helping them to understand God made them in his image and has a purpose for each of them. Shiloh's Christian counselor helps them overcome depression, anger and anxiety from past abuse and helps them learn how they can contribute to God's kingdom in the present and when they leave Shiloh.

Shiloh does not receive any funding from County, State or Federal agencies. Children are placed at Shiloh by the family, through local agencies or through the local Court. Shiloh currently has homes at Clarence and Kahoka, Missouri.

Shiloh is currently in a capital campaign to build a new home and remodel an existing home at the Clarence property.
